Overview

The Australian Government is providing $110 million in grant funding from 2022-23 to 2025-26, to co-invest with privately owned wood processors to adopt new and upgraded wood processing facilities. Grants are available through the Accelerate Adoption of Wood Processing Innovation Program to upgrade or adopt innovative technology that will improve domestic wood processing efficiency and capacity – producing higher value products, using more from our wood resources and contributing to the industry’s capacity to reduce its carbon footprint.

Grants of between $1 million to $5 million are available to support privately owned wood processing facilities to:

· better use the available wood supplies

· increase production efficiency

· add value to existing products

· create new products, and/or

· reduce the industry’s carbon emissions.

The grant round opened on 22 December and closes on 28 February 2023 at 9pm (AEDT).

The program will offer co-funding of up to 40 per cent of total project costs, with the remaining 60 per cent to be met by the applicant. To find out more, visit the Community Grants Hub

Projects are not required to start in the 2022-23 financial year but must be completed by 30 June 2026.
